over time there has been more and more emphasis on increasingly larger intercoolers when people forget that people are pushing enough air for many hundreds of kw through a standard gtr cooler which is 600x300x60mm. A 450 x 300 core size fits in the front of an ae86 very nicely and it's a common size. You will need to remake a bonnet latch support to hold the intercooler which I might be able to help you with

forgot to mention I suggest chopping holes just above the bumper brackets, it ends up fitting really nice and you can leave the battery alone.

Hi, I am using a 380x200x70 with 2" piping , makes 161kw on 15psi with 40 degree inlets on a hot day. Fits perfect behind ae86 bars and rated to 400hp

inmy 86 i use a 300x400x76 mounted aparently upside down works ohk i guess. 3 in outlets which is a mistake, i runa similar size in my ke which is better with 2.5 inlets, used to run a 400x25x60 i think in my street sprinter 2.25 inlets and it was by far the best one so far.

ARC 600x270x76 from JZX90, it's a piece of art not an intercooler.

And yes, I need to box the pod filter.

Gonna be hard to box that in and get cai, is that a 3a racing pod?

Not really, just build divider between radiator side and pod filter(K&N).

Right now I don't really even see a huge problem. Cold dense air passing the headlight will easily displace the hot/slow moving air comming from the radiator. All air is being drawn down out the back of the motor as per the factory design.

Is there space to mount a clutch fan + shroud with mid-mount in AE86?

Sam - almost none.
Sklar - NO I run Koyo twin core, FWD water pump very thin thermo fan, and there is about 15mm clearance from fan to water pump snout.

Worth doing it right if your going to do it!

And all you kiddies comming to the HR Annual can see it in the flesh at Mallala.
