alternater trouble

So my mechanic rang me up and said that while he was tuning my 86 on the dyno my bolts spiked and that my alternater has crapped itself. I got a spare bigport alternater but my car is running a silvertop 20v does anyone know of the bigport will fit the ST?

fits but the socket is different, easy to change and I suggest you use a new one (the plug) from an auto elec as they can snap, I had this

you could be lucky, some 20Vs had the old round plug as well.

really? well there you go, either way it's a good idea to change the plug while your at it, well I think so anyway after getting stranded once
