i have a problem with mine starting...

i can get it to start with the key turned full on but when i click the key back to (on) it stops.

with the key on (on) there is no power going to the ingition coil.??

also, with the dual barrel carby, do i need the auto choke connected? if so where too?

thanks all

Little white box, next to the coil, hit it with a hammer then get a new one to replace it because that's where your problem is. Could be an immobiliser issue though.

Check that there's voltage at both sides of the white thing and that'll tell you what you need to do next.

Next time put more information fer chrissake.

that almost seems to be a earthing problem, or a short somewhere, i once connected gauges up in one of my cars and connected them into the ignition wires and wen i turned the key to on the car would start, but would turn off if i clicked it all the way to start, and it turned out it was shorting out, so may pay to check wires in that area, not sure bout the choke thing tho,

As I said I'm un educated in these engines so I'm sorry for the lack there off info. By the little white thing you mean the resistor? BUt I'll look into it. I Just hope its not a problem with the barrel. But thanks for the help, I'm trying to learn as much as I can.

Yeah, ballast resistor. I once forgot to hook up the wire from the ballast but connected the red starter wire. Did exactly the same thing you described.

If its a stock 4ac carb the auto choke should have red and black wires and have a green connector near the washer bottle

Yeah it's stock atm but the guy that had it before me had like a 3Atgu or some shit in it. And he took like everything out to fit it in, and when he put the 4A-c back in its kinda shanky so it doesn't have a everything in it. O.o so no washer bottle :p
