Hey guys,

I have a T-18 and it has a brand new clutch in it. just a standard one, and it doesn't engage till the very last point of letting the clutch out. and there is no adjustments anywhere, has anyone had this problem? or herd of it? how can i fix it?

Thanks
Sam.

okay.. got some info, the previous owner done a clutch kit, machined the flywheel and replace the spiggot.

Make sure there is free play at the master cylinder when the pedal is right up, if thats all fine there is not much else you can do, if its not slipping just drive it & try & get used to a high pedal take up ..

Or pull it all out & put another clutch in ...

yeah it is a good clutch because it bites hard once it engage's.

what do you mean by free play at the master cylinder?

thanks for the feedback,
Howie

There should be some slight slack / movement of the pedal when its at rest, what i'm trying to say is you should be able to depress the pedal slightly without it actually moving the master cylinder piston, you will be able to feel it as the pedal has no resistance in its first 5 or so mm of movement & then it stiffens up as it starts to push the piston down the bore ..

Adjust the clevis on the clutch master in/out to change friction point?
