stripping interior... nasty surprise?

Ok so after I bought my rona Ive been stripping the interior to clean it and ive found
theres a layer of something...not sure what it is ontop of the metal all over the floors
its hard but i can mark scratches and marks on it with a screw driver
the pics are in my car thread but my camera is a phone

what is this is? I think its some sort of bondo but I might be wrong and im really not sure how to remove it
anyone know?

lol its sound deadener
dry ice and a screwdriver/chisel is the best way to remove it
