Possibly... Does appear that in the engine bay the body is coming away from the 'rail' ......

thats what i thought.
Its only about 4-5mm at most.
Mates dad has a Car chassis straightener. they used it to do his Paseo which was heaps more bent then mine. so might be life left in the old girl yet!!

Even if your chassis is bent it looks pretty minor... when you've got visibly bent rails then I'd start worrying.
Even then, nothing which a big tree, some straps and a winch cant deal with.
I'd say that your top drivers side hinge has flogged out so the door is now sagging (hence the gap).

if you can allign it out don't worry about it

LOL @ Golberg.
Ill see how it is once new struts in.
BTW, the door hinge isnt worn, there is noticeable gap difference between the guards and the pane thats around the window washers.. wasnt there before.. im guessing its bent about 5mm... ill see what mates dad says when i take it around next week anyway

id seriously doubt it. Ketos have far worse spot welds than an 86 for some reason and having a stiff cage/tip top suspension doesent help.
Easiest way to find out - get a wheel alignment

had a bingle the other day.. come off road at 50kays down a ditch..
screwed a strut.
I can chassis is slightly bent, the bonnet was lined up square with the guards. now the front of guard on driver side is near touching bonnet, and passenger side has about a 10mm gap.
how bad would this affect driving?
Ringing a few body shops tomorrow to see what i can do

i did the same as you in my ae71. i twisted the chassis slightly and now the drivers wheel sits in at the bottom and the passenger has nice camber lols
all doing 15kmh rufly by the time i slowed up into a tree lol
i just welded it up and drove for another 6months and didnt do it any further

youre talking millimeters. theres is about 20mm adjustment in a strut top. dw about it, just keep using the car for whatever youve been using it for and dont stress too much honestly.

they all start to separate around those areas, if you can be bothered have a look in my members ride i have made some plates to hold it together a little better, and will be seem welding, but this stuff happens.

looks alright to me but you might wanna check your cross member where the lca bolts onto the cross member to make sure the hole isn't slotted happened to a m8 of mine after hitting a gutter at slow speeds he also bent the entire chassis lol but yous looks ok

The holes look fine, thanks for the heads up Penis... lol
I have a strut brace on, so maybe that prevented even more damage? unsure really.
Have put all new Poly bushes up front today. and nothing looked out of place.
Only thing i need to fix is a bolt come off the protection plate thingy under the engine., it now hits on the Swaybar.. that explains the clanging noise when i drove it home
