Engine Cross members

Hey All,

Just quizzing all you tech boffins.

Which cars share the same cross member as the ae86?

Can some one confirm or deny that the KE70 and ae71 cross members are the same as ae86's?

And any other car that shares the same cross member as the ae86.

ae71 is the same and the only one that is. I know because I had both in my crossmember jig

so if you don't mind me asking what are you planning?

well, was hoping the ke70 was the same so it would make the swap 10 times easier.

But i haven't seen a beams in a ke before :P

In that case i might try and find a ae71 that is semi decent

so your saying that the 86 cross member will bolt into the ke?

if that works then everything else will bolt in as well.

it does bolt in, have a look on here and in rollaclub, but how would it make it easier to put a beams engine in ?

i already have my beams sitting in my 86 atm. all welded up.

but i dont have a chance registering the sprinter as its in track form atm.

So dump it into a ke and away i go :P

well your home free then, just look up 4age ke70 conversions for the dreaded pedal box thing and thats it.
