Wanting to know before purchase if a seat rail for an AE86 will fit/line up with the rail mounting points on a KE70? ie. will an aftermarket AE86 seat rail bolt directly into a KE70?

i cant remember how much it was off by but when i tried to put an ae86 seat in my ke70 it wouldn't wit i had to cut off the end tabs and weld on my own

Two line up, one's real close, the other one's ten mm off or something. enough to require cutting and rewelding.

I've noticed that a lot of the aftermarket sprinter seat rails differ from eachother.

I have a bride in my ae71 and i had to cut and shut two of the tabs to make the holes line up.

Skylar is right, two usually line up but it will need modding.

$$$

vs.

50 bucks in metal + stock seat rail + intimate afternoon with the welder.

Just took the stock rail off the seat. Looks like with a bit of cutting and welding I can make the seat fit onto it.
Cheers guys

as stated with an aftermarket rail two tabs need to be moved slightly

although a stock ae86 seat rail will bolt straight into a ke70

well, my ke70 rails fit in my 86, the holes are a bit off though..

well then it doesnt fit?

i hacked up a standard seat rail and fitted it to my recaro (that originally had an R32 bride rail bolted to it)

no welding required, just a few hols drilled and bolts cut to size.

i have an 86 bride seat rail (in my 86) which had been "modded" for a ke70. one mounting hole had been slightly enlarged, so i would say it can be done and much cheaper than buying a specific rail.
