Hey guys, picking up a ke70 panelvan, and i have a t18 here also. was wondering how hard it would be to convert the whole drivetrain, struts, brakes and steering box from the t18 into the panelvan was also thinking about getting the series 2 grill and lights setup and putting that on there, would they fit, or would they need different gaurds?

would be straight bolt in for front end both being xE7X i think, but ke70 pannelvans are leaf rear end and t18 is coil, i again think, so diff may be different......... someone will know for sure

why would you throw the steering box from a t-18 in the ke? keep the standard ke70 crossmember and source some ta22 steel engine mounts and the 3tc will bolt straight in, with the diff yeah not gonne happen without cuttings and rewelding mounts so wouldn't bother at this point in time

sorry and yeah guards and shit won't match up, t-18 are longer, can cut shit up and it can work, probably easier to just mod the guards to suit the s2 parkers, though might bolt up, not 100% sure

panelvans are leaf rear end.
steering box is crap so i dont know why you'd want to keep it. You'd be better off keeping everything in the t18 but converting it to rack and pinion steering using ke70 parts. t18 has benefit of coil rear end, t series, 3tc. From what you've said all you wanna do is basically make the ke70 a t18 panelvan. which is a total waste of time imo.
Unless of course the t18 is unregisterable.

basically, i want the steering box from the t18 cos ive got a boatload of lock atm, and i haveent spent any money on the fron t end at all. but basically yea, i wanna make a t18 panelvan cos i need a car to lug my drums around in.

not exactly bolt in
pedal box needs to be changed too. aswell as gearbox mounts. bonus is the k-s series tailshalft will fit the t18 t50 if you keep same diff.

what type of gearbox mounts would i need? And would the 3t Xmember bolt straight in the front, or would holes need to be drilled? how hard would it be to get the steering box in?

ultimately, i wanna make a panno that i can carry my drums in, and have enough power to go up hills, and to be able to have a boatload of lock for u turns, etc... without spending alot money..

it seems a whole heap more money doing all that to the ke then just doing a rack and pinion conversion, i mean for evetrything to converting to rack and pinion with lock spacer and ps arms i can't see how it'd cost more than $500 for absolutely eveyrthing

ok then, how would i go about fitting the engine, would i just use the 3tc crossmember or the ke one with ta22 mounts on it?
