anyone know which wire is the signal wire for a XE7X tacho dash?

looking to get my stock tacho dash working with my aftermarket ecu, does anyone know which wire by color or location behind the dash?

Black some times black with red dots

really?, i got the stock tacho woring in my 77 celica with a 1jz, just hooked the signal wire off the ecu to the tacho and tuned the pointometer.

It's the black wire(closest to centre of car) on the dash plug closest to the driver's door.

Corolla's don't have potentiometers on tachs. Had mine out the other day trying to get mine to work with 5v squarewave shit. Didn't work but I got an oscilloscope coming so I'll fix him soon.

coil neg tachs don't normally work off 5v squarewave. You sure you didn't have a tacho 'booster'?

Yair thats the one, use an old relay with the guts removed for tacho boost.

it was a motec on the celica, im using a stinger 4424 on the rolla
