Need to know visual difference between W57/W58 and cars they are out of.

Hi , Mate is doing a conversion into his car to a w57 gearbox , and needs one that has the shifter in the middle position ( of the 3 different pos avail ) ,
I tried a search and no luck , so if sombody has a link t some info that would be sweet ,

i belive the w58 has an alloy sandwich plate .. or the one on the right .
