hey all i bought what i was told was some adm ae86 front brake callipers but after buying new pads the pads won't fit, the part number on my callipers are 2014 and 4529x on the bracket. I was wondering if anyone had some ae86 callipers laying around if they could compare against my number or tell me what my callipers are off?
Cheers Wade

To be honest I've got no idea, but by the looks of the caliper bracket, it might take a DB308 pad, which is later model FWD Corolla and MR2.

By the looks of those pictures with those pads, the JDM inner pads would be perfect fit. It might be a case of the ADM caliper, with JDM bracket...

If you could mate that would be sweet as, Can you look at number on the caliper and on the bracket?

I have added a new pic in that shows that the caliper bracket hits both side slidding over the disk.
The conversion i am doing is use the adm backing plate, adm hubs, adm calipers with the modified pads from gsl and use a jdm vented disk. Does that sound correct to everyone?

Hey mate i don't think the adm calipers will fit on the jdm disc, as they are suited to a solid adm disc not the vented jdm disc which is thicker...

From what i understand they do you just have to buy the thinner pads from gsl rally sport, the pads they have supplied don't even fit into the bracket which I thing means the callipers are wrong. I'm wanting to buy another pair of callipers but i want to make sure i get the correct ones this time that's why i want to know the number...

yeah im with this. im sure some people have prob done it and they had success, but your having issues so why not do the job properly and get the proper calipers? personally i think people that try to take shortcuts on something as important as brakes shouldnt even be allowed on the road. but thats just me

again, the reason i am having troubles is that the caliper is incorrect and all i am asking is what are the correct numbers for the caliper and the bracket. Why do you think its dodgy? I'm putting better quality brake pads in with slotted vented rotors and the only difference is that the jdm caliper is slightly wider hence the reson for using the slightly thinner pads when using the adm caliper.

dont you think there is a reason why toyota designed a wider caliper for a wider disc? so youve gone to all the effort to get decent discs and decent pad material but not to get correct fitting calipers and proepr size pads? why?

becasue i had heaps of trouble trying to get jdm ones and then i read about using the adm ones and i thought that would be easyer to get a hold of adm ones. All i want to know is what code the brackets and calipers have so i can compair them to mine or to try and figure what the ones i bought are..

I would tend to agree with H8CHIR6KU. You've made the expense with the rotors why not the calipers. It kind of looks like you would either need to machine the top section of the caliper so the rotor fits in further aswell to get enough pad on the rotor to be effective...maybe that's just me taking a quick look. Hope it works out.
