Im pretty certain theres a quick and easy answer for this, and I feel like a bit of a retard for asking.... but hell I worked 13 hours today and my current mental capacity is nil...

Im fitting up my whiteline rear swaybar, non adjustable type, and the bush that goes through the bar and sits inside the link is too big to force through. It's obviously the right bush, but how the hell do I get it through? is there something Im missing? Ive tried soaking it in boiling water to soften it up, didnt work.

Or could there be an issue with the bar and/or the bush?

I can go take a pic to show exactly what im talking about if needed?

6T bench press will get it in there. $99 from superheap.

Use mine more often then I ever thought I would!

Im a boilermaker. thats my answer to fix ANYTHING. And if that doesnt work.... get a bigger hammer.

Trouble is, the OD of the bush is too large to even get it started into the hole to hit it in. Hence why i was asking if there may have been an issue with the bush or the bar itself.

As above, the OD of the bush is a lot bigger than the hole. I tried using my metal clamps to squeeze it in and it wouldnt go.

Im considering reaming the hole in the bar out a mm or two.

lube, as I'm sure you know, is your friend, then as much force as possible.

It is designed to be a tight fit to reduce flexing, so making the hole bigger is not such a good idea.

The press allows direct and relatively quick force onto the bush itself.

If anything I would trim a bit off one edge of the bush to help it start.

Yeah, got it coated in that graphite/grease stuff, and had assumed it was meant to be a tight fit. Ill give trimming a corner off a go. If it wont go tonight Ill take it into work and use the press tomorrow

You can also give it a little taper on a lathe to get it started.

just chamfer it at work lube it up and press it in

Got em in. Filed a chamfer around the leading edge, lubed it up, then managed to squeeze them in with a clamp. All good. What a PITA that was!
