Possibly me, in an E7 though and would also be my first track day, if that's not finished then I'll be there in the 86 but only to watch.

Hopefully ill be driving in my rolla also, do you have to spend your first 'track' day in begginers? Or is that the recommendation?

bones
18th October 2010, 09:44 PM
sweeet guys i hope im there driving, my cars in primer and i need to get a locker or lsd otherwise the day would be shit, i think you have to do the beginners part all day but not 100% sure im guessing if your good enough they would let you out on the other track

KurtHS

Have a read up on the Vicdrift website, if you're confident enough that your past the beginners group I'm sure you can just enter yourself in the higher group, anyway even if you do enter as a beginner than you can move up at anytime if you're up to it.

matt99
18th October 2010, 10:19 PM
You dont HAVE to do beginners. You can enter into whichever class you want regardless of wheteher its your first time or not.

Ill be there, otherwise I wont have drifted once in Victoria this year.

I was disappointed that there was only one sprinter there, though it did have a very interesting dizzy set up on a 20v. I'll post up some pics when I get a chance...

I'll be up in dec providing my fuel cell is fabed up and ready to go. Spewing I didn't enter this time there was only one supra on the beginers track meaning there would have been heaps of learning time.

I'll try a skid pan day with driver dynamics first so I'll have some sort of an idea of what to do.

If it's your first time on the track you will be in the learner group.
If you can show the instructors that you can drive they will bump you up to beginners group and then you can go on the main track.
I know cause that's what happened with me on Sunday.
Cheers
David

Must have changed. Always used to be able to just make an educated guess at your skill level and just go for it.

anyone know what there raising there prices to next year ?

matt99
8th December 2010, 05:31 PM
Just a rumour but members entry shouldnt go up by anymore than $20 but non-member entries will probably go up more.

Aka. Im definatly doing the Tassie series again next year.

bones
8th December 2010, 08:22 PM
you a member man , is it worth it?

matt99
8th December 2010, 09:12 PM
No im not.

For me its not worth it as I do a lot of drifting in Tassie, which this year has meant that I havn't been to Winton once. Membership is pretty cheap though, it would probably be viable next year, ill wait until I see the difference in price between members and non-members before I join up as I dont really want to join up at all.

On another note, my handbrake still isnt working, shit could get interesting this weekend without it.

KE70GT
8th December 2010, 09:21 PM
All good my handbrake doesn’t work either comp lock all the way, what group did you enter in

matt99
8th December 2010, 09:23 PM
Pro. What about you?

I dont know how my standard trailing arms and SR box will like comp lock all day. Fuck it, I got whiteline ones on the way and a spare box.

KE70GT
8th December 2010, 09:29 PM
I stepped up to group b I’ll see what it's like

matt99
8th December 2010, 09:36 PM
Whatever you do, dont destroy your front end again. Haha.

KE70GT
8th December 2010, 09:43 PM

matt99
12th December 2010, 08:10 PM
Haha, man our Failcon would have dominated yours if we really wanted it to, its got like 7 turbos. One for every cylinder.

We had the air con on though, so it was slow.
