diff question?

hey guys.

How can you tell the difference between a S series and a T series diff.

Just trying to work out if I have a S or a T.

Do S series diffs have a backing plate that can be removed like a borgy?

T series diffs DO NOT have that backing plate that you speak of.

so if the diff you have there does have this plate, it is NOT a T series.

Well it does NOT have the backing plate. Does this mean T series? Win for me then :)

S series DO NOT have a removable backing plate. since you have to completely remove the axels and diff to weld it ;)

but, you can tell what diff you have by the number of carrier bolts

S Series 8 bolts carrier to axle housing
T Series 10 bolts carrier to axle housing
