Ive just got around to sticking an el-cheepo head unit in the sprinter so i have some music when i drive but im trying to figure the neatest and best way of installing some 6" speakers in the front doors without butchering the door cards (or at least keep the butchering to a minimum)

I would have to say that some one has a nice neat setup in their car if you could post up pics and if you have used speaker pods who makes them or what are they out of.

Cheers

I would say make some pods utilizing the door pocket mounts, otherwise commodore vr/vs front door pockets would be the best and neatest. You would need to paint them black to match trim however

I just recently put 6.5" pioneer splits in mine. I ran them where there is already a pre-existing factory cutout in the metal frame of the door.

Just had to space them out a bit to clear the window track, I just used some of the spacers that came with them, I think there were about a 15mm disc.
If I can be bothered I'll throw up a pic.

In hinsight I probably would've made some neat little pods. Definately easier.

By cut out I mean gap in the webbing of the door itself, not the door trim. It's at the bottom of the door closest to the dash.

Found a couple I had saved on the computer.

I ran mine like 1 and 3.

This is what grows out of my doors. If I hadn't bought it like that I wouldn't have put them in that way.

I bought my car with a similar set up as shown in Post #8 - you are welcome to come around and have a look if you like as I'm in also in Brighton...
