hey guys heres my prob i have an 86 with a 4a 100kw in it i have blown 2 bottom ends in 2 completely diff motors in 2 weeks the only thing that i have changed on the oil system is a aftermaket oil filter relocation kit and a diff oil cooler and braided lines could this be the problem??

Are u checking the level of the oil once the relocating lines hav been filled up. If u hav long lines and they fill up could drop the level to low.

yes the levels are all fine and the car seams to run fine for a few days the i heard a slight knock that got massively worse in minutes

have you got a oil pressure gauge????, sure you have the kit mounted right and everything??

make sure your getting oil pressure then, sounds like bottom end isnt getting oil

no gauge atm but yes all the kit is done properly could it be a coinsidence that the same thing happened to 2 diff motors?

i would be getting an oil pressure guage and seeing if your getting good oil pressure, and i would be checking the kit, what brand etc is it

i brought everything from motorsport connections payed good coin for it and its all good gear couple of my mates think that the extra kit shit and cooler is to much for the oil pump?

not that im 100% sure on this, but i havent read anyone on here saying anything about oil pumps struggling, after running cooler kits, but like i said get a oil gauge on it, even borrow or buy a oil pressure gauge(like a kit for testing not an incar gauge)

What size lines? How is it plumbed up?

You haven't done something dumb like fed the oil backwards through the filter have you?

I would rebuild motor no.1 and rather than getting an unknown km shitty condition motor again, then see if it blows up again after checking oil pressures.

If you put the oil lines on back to front, the oil filter acts as a 1-way valve stopping oil getting to your engine.
Outer feed is oil in (from the pump), centre is oil out to the bearings etc
If the oil is fed into the filter through the centre, the rubber flap will stop pressure getting to the engine.
Double check that the outer feed from the pump on the sandwitch block it fitted to the outer feed to the filter on the remote housing,
Likewise the center feed to the bearings is connected to the filter outlet (centre) fitting on the remote housing.
Hope that helps.

yea thanks guys iv checked all that but after the first one went.
the only reason i would rather try it with another shity motor is that im in the process of building a boosted motor and want to sort out the problem before i put it in cause if i fuk the new motor ill neck myself considering that bout 5000 is going into the bottom end.

well keep the fuk motor in there then and hook up a guage

It's a lot of effort but pull the crank out and throw new bearings at the current motor. Check there's no metal in the oil pump and strainer and try the motor again. Would rather pull the block out and have the block flushed too but for like 200 bucks you know the motor has good bearings at least.
