hey guys, where is the stock fuel filter on a stock toyota sprinter?
is it in the fuel tank?

any help very much appreciated coz after i put a new 4ac i installed an in-line filter inside the engine bay and the car bogs down HEAPS and really struggles and sometimes switches off completely and i'm thinking its not getting enough fuel coz of the way i have installed this filter in the engine bay and can't get fuel.

cheers,
Nas

Bigport sprinters have it in the bay, unsure of the carbed versions location, but if its anything like the 4ac in the ae71 its in the bay as well. It will have an ugly little clip to hold it there near the brake booster.

Stain was being a smarty pants :)

It is located just below and forward of the brake booster. It is a small plastic item. I suspect you may be looking for a metal one but they are only for the EFI setup's.

haha lmao. the stock position on a jdm ae86 is low on the drivers side guard, and yes, it is a metal item. this may help you:

Yes I was being a smart arse :P

But if you cannot see the fuel filter after opening the bonnet then either its been removed, or you should consider a new hobby.

haha thanks stain...yes its been removed coz the engine had been replaced temporarily with a 20v and then when i put a 4ac back in i used an inline generic filter....just thought i maybe was running the car through 2 filters hence why i wanted to know where the factory one used to be :P
