I lost 5th and reverse gear last night during racing. Is it possible that both synch roes are stuffed?
Any ideas to what would hav caused it.

i've heard some people have had this problem and it was a broken selector fork apparently??
they aren't too hard to split apart and have a look at

I'd say broken fork too.

Easy to crack T-50's open, took me forever to get the tail housing in the right spot to get past the end of the shift rods though.

selector fork sounds right, reverse gears don't have synchro's

Does the gearstick go into the gate? or does it not move into gear at all.

If you can still move the gearstick into where it is supposed to go (but there is no drive), then you've probably lost a roll pin holding the selector fork, if not then it's probably broken a fork like the others have said.

If it has dropped a pin, you can lockwire them into place so they don't fall out again in the future

I pulled the gearbox apart and the fork is ok. The 5th gear sleeve does not slide thru the 5th gear hub. I think the a spring has been dislodged and the key is stopping the sleeve to go engage. I need to press the bearings and synchros for closer inspection..16713
