hey i just brought a ae86 with the 4c it idles fine and every thing but when i go to take off the revs die down and if im sitting there i push the accelarater and nothing but then the revs slowlying pick up and to take off i have to keep the revs about 5-6grand but then it dies again

can any one help me please

nah idling is fine and then i put my foot flat to the ploor and then it slowly picks up once its over 3 grand its got normal responce but try to take off no chance!

sounds like its flooding does the bitch blow smoke

Or the ignition timing is out

have you cleaned the carbie or intake system

I've cleaned it change spark plugs leads fuel filter my vacuum is fine Im getting a new fuel pump and carby but I'm not sure if it will fix it I just need the 4ac to get it reg then my 20v is going in but this problem is setting me back and has me stund

Sounds like ignition timing is out, get a timing light and check its ok

hey had a similar problem... check the contacts in your dizzy make sure they are opening at the cam lobes point from memory the gap is 0.43mm at 52deg check the manual.. i put new contacts in drove well for a while but then died again so swapped dizzy's from my other 86. drives fine now, dont have to rev to take off anymore :)

The weakness on most 4K-C / 4A-C motors seems to be the carby

Either get the carby kitted / pull it down & rebuild it, or fuck off that Aisan piece of crap and get a better carby setup on there

Speaking from experience, 4AC Aisan carbs that are ~30 years old now need much carby re-kitting love

hey just letting you's know it was my bottom end so new motor it is for me so im just going to put in my 20v and get it engineered :D

probably pick up a 4 ac from a wreckers for $`100 bucks, alot cheaper than the $700 just for engineers cert + what they tell you , you have to have
