Recently when I've gone to put my ac on the lil blue button flashes at me and dosnt engage the compressor, I figured that there is a pressure sensor somewhere and I've lost most my gas. Can anyone confirm/deny what's goin on here?

your right in your guess, im faily shoure they run a trinity switch (high and low pressure sensor in the one switch)
first thing i'd be doing bro is going to someone with a set of a/c pressure guages and seeing what the system is running at, if they know anything about a/c (which they should if they are servicing systems) they should be able to diagnose whats going on fairly quickly. without knowing the ins and outs of the operating logic of the '86 system, i would hazard to guess it's probably low on gas or the T.X valve has packed it in..

It's what regulates the gas/ oil floow through to the evaporator. if it's locked open, it wount build enough pressure, if it's blocked closed, it wount let gas pass and hence build up too much pressure.
stuff google, just ask me! :P

also if you have moisture in the system it will freeze and block your TX valve, had several cars were the a/c doesnt work(not cold) and when i hook up the machene and vac the system it had the right amount of gas, it jsut doesnt work well, when it starts to get moisture in the system

my old aw11 used to do this, but it still pumped out cold air. Didn't happen in econ mode though.
I'd be interested to know what it is
