anyone know how I get my 4age to diagnostic mode? tried searching but couldn't find anything

Bridge the TE2 and T1 connectors Should be located under the drivers side dash, if all factory.

how do I know which one are the TE2 and T1 connectors?

in the engine bay is it a black box (kouki) or a round yellow plug (zenki)?

Just download the 4age diagnostic manual in the tech doc section

thats confused me even further it says to short near the battery terminal??

There's a small little box that is about 25mmx40mm near the coil or around the fuse box in the engine bay, flip open the lid and bridge the T and E1 terminals, you should hear the revs drop(if the car is running) or when you turn it to reds the check engine should flash a number of times. (or should flash once?? I think if everything is ok).

Record these amounts and refer to the diagnostic codes which can be found all over the internet, just google it.
