what car asuming ae86???? if its an adm 86 your going to have to run your own power line either from the battery with a fuse or from the Ecu
(im guessing its an ar86 and your putting a 4 age or have on in it)

your best bet is to run wires from the ecu, that way, if you crash and the engine stops, the pump doesnt keep pumping fuel everywere and catch alight(worst case senario) you shouldnt just tap into random wires that have 12volts either, as the pump can pull a fair bit of power cause fuses and things to trip, if you wont a prime button your going to have to run wires from the front to the back anyway ???????????

just run another cable with the tail light loom, thats where it runs on a JDM car. earth it where the rest of the loom earths then just run an on off switch on the dash?
edit: above point is very valid which i didn't really think about in regards to safety. you'll work it out!

lolwat totally agree with your logic there mate
timbo unfortunately i got my thermos running of the switch.
Im not sure how my last car was hooked up but that thing worked mint. Turn the key pump primes then start the engine easy (4age AE71 with JDM tank).

and fyi a prime button(personally) is a fucking wank, because as soon(like i mean the slightest turn) of the cas and my fuel pump kicks in (i had the dissy out and you move it a piss hair and the pump kicks in) and how fast a high pressure pump will build up pressure i really dont see the need for a "prime" button

^ exactly. the only thing i would ever want to "prime" is oil with a fuel cut switch.
