Hi guys,

I was thinking of putting a Black Top (AE111) flywheel behind my 4AGTE 20v build, mainly due to it being lighter than the other 4AGE flywheels.

Question is, will a clutch kit for a Silver Top (AE101) fit? The reason I ask is the Exedy site does not list a clutch kit for the AE111 with 4AGE motor, only 4AFE. The Silvertop clutch also has the same spline diameter and spine-count as the AE86 sprinter (T50) kit, so i'm going to assume it will fit with the T50 gearbox i have in the car?

Also, is there anything i should know about the Black Top flywheel, apart from the fact it's almost 3kg lighter than a silvertop one?

Thanks,

Dave.

AE101 and AE111 are both 212mm flywheels.

clutch kit will fit a T50, yes.

its 1kg lighter than the silvertop and dont order a 4afe one. I don't have the excedy part number but they do stock a 212mm heavy duty clutch that I praise

I'm running an Exedy H/D clutch on my AE92 fwd Corolla. It is the 212mm diameter you require; whether or not it fits the T50 splines, I'm unsure. Just for reference I weighed the stock 16v Small-Port flywheel and it came in at 6.9kg (has been machined once before). Currently using an Extreme 3.9kg fly

I've always ordered 7afe clutch kits for the 20v flywheels...

B/Top flywheels are great, can tell them by the cut outs near where it bolts up to the engine. Would also recommend if you are making good power at looking into adding dowels on the flywheel to help it cope.
