Car - AE86 Levin

motor - 4AGTE

use - Daily

problem - Leaking oil from where CAS is connected to engine

occurs/started when - recently

As described above my engine is leaking a bit of oil from where the CAS is bolted onto the head.
I think it's the O-ring that's leaking so therefore can anyone tell me the dimensions of the O-ring on the CAS of a AE101 4AGZE?

I know you normally don't buy this according it's dimensions as you would just ask for a replacement O-ring in the CAS assembly but as I work at a place where they have O-rings I thought I'll find a matching one. Now you might say get the CAS out and measure it up yourself but if I do that I won't have any transportation to get me a new O-ring ;-)

It's probably a long shot but if anyone knows or can measure this?

Thanks.

If no one can help you just go down to Toyota, it cost me like 6 bucks to get mine.

Probably doesn't help but it's probably something you should do while it's out.

I would just wind the motor over to tdc on 1 and pull the distributor out, get new o-ring and restab the cas in the car park. It's real simple.

Thanks for the info, I came across this kit during my search yesterday but haven't seen the topic on toymods before.
For now I think I'll stick with the O-ring first and see in what condition the CAS is when I pull it out.

To wind the motor over to tdc on 1 I just have to take the front covers of and allign the marks on the front of the engine right?

You don't even have to do that. There's a dimple on the inlet cam that you can see when you take the oil filler cap off. You turn the motor over til you have the dimple at the top of the motor visible through the oil filler. When it's at tdc it's half obscured by the baffle type thing in the oil filler hole. Then you use the crank pulley to put it to zero if you wanna be that careful.

Pull that CAS out, there's a mark on the gear and a mark on the CAS body, they line up. Put it back in and align to the same spot it was before. DONE!
