hey guys, just wondering if anyone near the Gold Coast has a pair/singular 15x10-12 superlights i am able to borrow. or any 15x10-12ish size, just trying to see what they will fit like on my guards.

borrowed some mates 15x10-26 and these fit way better than expected, but i may be getting an f series and do not want to modify my guards to the limit so fit the -26's.

so long story short i need some 15x10-12'ish wheels to borrow for a couple of days.

Cheers,
Tom

ive got 15 x 10 -12 on my 86 and you wont get them under even flared guards, EG, on the front, i folded out both lips and still no joy, i can get some pics if you like?

ahh yes please pics on an 86 would be good.

i will be running them on the rear if i do go that direction.
i had -26's on the rear of mine and this is the result:

car would go another maybe 5-10mm lower. (car is sitting on tyre, 195/50)
sorry about the shitty pics, did it in the middle of the night.

Diff is MK11 Rona - same track as 86 ( i think the diff was centred in that pic ? hmm)

haha thanks guys.

and thanks for the pic's Joel. that blue hatch is fucking cool. love the colour.
pretty sure i will be going neg12's as i could make the fender part my guards work, but the main problem would be the inner guard above the fender. would just eat the sidewalls... plus i am pretty sure im going yr22 f series and im not going to shorten it any time in the near future. -26 is hot but just too much :P

still keen to borrow some wheels though.

you can make it work ;)

Hachi_Tom
28th May 2011, 11:46 AM
HAHA. i could but i want to keep the standard metal. i hate bolt on's and the like. whole overfenders/widebody is cool, but nothing beats the look of standard guards.

sundee
28th May 2011, 12:06 PM
yeah agree, metal or fenders FTW

Hachi_Tom
28th May 2011, 06:56 PM
true that!
what i want to know is how Brett made his fenders, can you buy them or did he just cut up a piece of sheet put it through an english wheel or what?

sundee
28th May 2011, 09:43 PM
yeah im not sure how, his are also raised to get a lower ride height, definitely custom, maybe PM the guy in this link . im assuming he could answer that for you.

Too big looks rank.

I would stick with 14's no bigger then like 9's.

Hachi_Tom
30th May 2011, 06:41 PM
Too big as in diameter? i know you cant really go any bigger than 15's other wise it looks bad. and who cares how wide wheels are....
but this is my opinion and thats yours.

14x9's are fucking hella expensive. unless you can find me 14x9 around -10ish offset, for less than 650 a pair.

15's look better if you have a kit, 14's- no kit, 15's kit.

marvis

14's with kit is win!

IMO looks silly with so much poke. And once you start driving on it you'll start finding problems.
Not not mention be a cop magnet with that much stretch.

It's been said before, but why get a 10" rim just to put a 195 tyre on it.
There are pro's to stretch, but that much is stupid. Just get a 8" rim.

Jacobxxx

rock it tom, you wouldnt

sundee

15's too big is the dumbest comment going around.
yes a 195 on a 10 is kinda defeating the purpose.

Looks rank MArv? its sitting on coilovers would 3/4 the way up, stock guards etc.
its hardly finished. you'll keep kid.

Drift 86 rig looks sick.... real cop friendly though ;)

because any wider on the tyre and ill have no chance of A) fitting under my standard gaurds B) no chance of skidding them C) doesnt look as fucking baller..

i have 8's atm and its just not wide enough for my liking.

this isnt a thread about what you guys dont like the look of, or what is "stupid stretch" is or not.
just keen to see if people have pictures of 15x10-12 ishs on their 86's or if anyone could lend me a pair of them for a couple days max....

Jacob, i am super keen at the moment to do this, waiting for tax money to make my decision..

Marvis, i have 14's atm with a kit and it does look fucking cool but when i put the 15's on the rear it improved the look atleast 100x..

and Joel haha yeah cops love it, atm its definately the loudest 86 in queensland ( i dare say. but seriously...) been pulled over 4x in the last 2 years as a daily driver . once caught mid drift haha.. i have never ever been pulled over for just driving normally, only doing stupid shit, flying round corners, threewheeling out of a driveway when i had an open wheeler and wheel hit ground made screetchy noice and cops sayed thats why they pulled me over.

they have let me off everytime except when i threewheeled and "did a burnout" they got me for too low, panels, wheels sticking outside guards (lol @ me putting 15x10's on this haha.) and something else stupid.
i am surprised they didnt get me for too loud, would be 120db+ for sure.

still keen on borrowing someones superlights though.

marvis

I don't think you could pick a worse wheel.

You need to go lower.

What is you exhaust specs?

Jacobxxx

people have different tastes marv, i like superlites on sprinters and think it'd look awesome on Tom's car.

Tom, superlites > steelies

johl

The steelies Nathan is going ahead with was the ugliest one out of the 3 IMO. And they are a zero offset arnt they?

Jacobxxx
2nd June 2011, 10:50 AM
think he was getting a few sizes
only good thing is the price.

i could put 17' chromies on if your challenging me haha.

for the price, i cannot argue its just too good (220 a pair), and it wont be so mexican ill get shipped back to mehico.

i would go lower, but i need shorter front coilover springs as mine are wound all the way down (10kg huge springs, want 9kg >200mm free height) and the rear are cut trd 6kg's.
rails are at about 60mm....

exhaust atm is 2.25 i think cant remember maybe 2.5" straight through (loudest car IN THE WORLD)

i like the superlights but i can get two steelies for less than the price of one superlight, and since im on sub $350 a week shitty apprentice wages every dollar i can save is a massive yees from me haha.

yeah Johl they were the worst imo too but still meh... yes, il be getting the 15x10 zero offset.

Should buy some 14x10 Watanabe's for $2,500 plus so you can feel good about yourself now that the 10 hardcore 80's wheel enthusiasts in Aus respect your car because you were willing to spend 12 weeks pay on rims.

Hachi_Tom

hahaha.
its not i dont like period correct wheels. its that i cant afford them haha.

I'll be running 15x10 40 on the rear of my track car... Turned back to front so they only poke the same as 15x8 -9.. And using 225 tyres.. Casue I like my shit to funtion as well as look cool.
195 on a 10 is retarded stretch. and stupid poke with retarded stretch is EPIC GAY...
And superlights are just as heavy as Dimond racing wheels so why wouldn't you just get them in an ofset that fits.
Oh. And they'd no doubt b cheaper too.

Baaaaaaahhhhh....
Filth flarn filth...

depends who you ask man, i think it looks cool. but define "stupid poke"

"Oh. And they'd no doubt b cheaper too."
im not getting diamond racing wheels?
if you spend the 5 minutes reading the rest of this thread i said that i am getting the wheels for 220 a pair, which is just one superlight without shipping....

so NO it wont be cheaper.

anyways fuck the haters. going the 10's 0 offset will make it look cool.

i currently daily 15 x 9.5 0 front/15 x 10-6 rear with 225/45/15 s all round
it is do-able .. i could lend you some 15 x 9 -11 rims with 205/50s if your keen ,they would sit around same as a 15 x 10 +/- 0

Hachi_Tom
13th June 2011, 05:37 PM
Thanks kepanno but no thanks, tyres wouldnt have enough stretch for me to see what it would look like.
