I have got r33 4 pot brakes, and ae86 struts. I want to do the r33 brake conversion.

Just wanting to know if anyone has fit 280mm or 296mm rotors and r33 brakes to an ae86 strut and fit 15" wheels. Also what hub or bracket you have used or any issues you have come across and what parts you needed. I have heard of the BA 296x30mm rotor on the st141 hub (SD Garage).

Been doing alot of searching but only found s13 stuff.

cheers Kaan

hey Kaan, their isnt one for an 86 strut, you can buy a kit out of japan

As you can see its a pretty wild bracket

but dont know where to get it from, found it on yahoo JP

for the cost of making it work on an 86 strut, you better off to go to a wrecker, get some ST141 struts, build up some coilovers and go from there. you get 8mm extra track each side though as the rotors mount outboard on the hub, the conversion above is something im looking at, as it allows more wheel options ( you need alot of calliper clearance with the ST/BA conversion

15'' superlites fit over 298mm r33 brakes, 15'' ssr mesh do not.

Let me know if u find the kit. I don't think I'll find any st141 where I am. I got the calipers really cheap so that's why I'm trying these brakes

The first pic is 5 stud and the second is 4? Is it the same kit

AJPS set up is the bomb, f@ck the headache of an unproven conversion (not that it would be shit, ive got an r32 with 33 brakes and yes they are tuff, but i also have an ae86 with an ajps civic front end set up and its way more than enough)

edit* oh and its fits under 15's

i was planning on the wilwood kit but i bought these calipers cheap so if it becomes too hard by the time i need the brakes on the car i will sell the calipers and get wilwoods

but thanks for the info

The problem is more the wheel design (caliper clearance), rather than rotor diamater.

I agree with hachi_dk. You can go a proven FC3S/Civic set-up with ample braking performance and less weight.

um not sure they were 15x8-4 they needed a spacer but i was more worried about weather they fitted over the caliper them selves
