Do you have a hole in your gearstick boot or anything like that....If you do, all sorts of wierdo smells make their way into the cabin...
Maybe get a couple gauges to monitor if your worried....like oil pressure and temp...an oil cooler cant hurt but it has to mounted on the outside of the front bar.

does it do it at start up? or is it all the time, if it does at start up then you will probably need thicker oil, something like a 20w-60 penrite HPR30
also another good way to tell is get a mate to drive behind you and see if he can smell the oil burning , if he does then you need thicker oil

probably not the best thing to write there. highly illegal. looks cool, but illegal.
also it could be your rear main seal, they often go, but get overlooked cause you can't see them

I had some experience on this. Checked a few stuff:
1. Crankcase vent which some of you attached an oil catch - might be a leak there, if not oil, its the air.
2. Like Clinton said, anything that drips on the extractors
3. Check for holes on the exhaust pipe - a small hole can make the cabin smells like crap
4. And finally, rear boot weather seal - as you drive, there's an air vacuum around that area so gaps at the weather seal let the exhaust fumes come in thru the boot and into the cabin
Hope this helps.. :)

hey, since were talking about oil thickness and leaks etc im just curious as to what the correct oil to use for my 4age motor is because when i serviced my engine i put 15w-40 shell helix, is this oil suited for the motor can it cause damage to the motor? the engine doesnt use any oil as i drove it like 450km and theres no oil loss, no noises however if this is the wrong oil thickness can someone tell me what is best suited for this motor
thanks heaps

15w/40 is fine in a 4age as long as it's not blowing oil and it's not losing it.
I went from 15w/40 to 20w/50 and then onto 25w/50 cause my motor is fucked and uses about as much oil as fuel. But if your motor is in reasonably good condition 15w/40 is fine.
On topic: Are you losing oil? Mine blows it out the exhaust due to motor being shit, when I sit at traffic lights all I smell is oil burning. Look in your rear view in front of a car and boot it all the way to 7-8,000rpm. See whether there is smoke and if it is black or grey.
Grey = bad.
