I know this is gonna sound tryhardish but i wasnted to ask if anyone on here has touge stories or whatever cause on other forums people are like "I raced some guy last night on the mountain and it was badass!" but that hasn't been done here, to my knowledge. Are people here less silly or does it just not happen?

Battle???? Er i go for a nice brisk drive with my mates once every now and then, i'd have agree with the cartoon thing, i don't think anybody actually battles,
as far as i know everybody goes out to have a good time and enjoy driving the cars.

Ok fine, now youve all had a good payout on me what I was meaning was that people on here mostly seem to either just cruise around the city or take the car to the track and noone seems to do any mountain driving.
Maybe "battle" wasnt the best word for the title so let me rephrase that to "does anyone on here drive windy roads in a spirited manner, possibly at times running with others to compare levels of skillage."

i think thats a much better way of saying it

im often driving mountains, and i love it. I have a few mates that share that as well, so its great.

And im sure the majority of peeps on this forum love a good windy road no matter what they would do on it

me likes roads where no cops are!!...

got my first bit of "rear out" last night lol...

If you want to slide go out on a dirt road and find a good corner and practice. Then you feel more confident when it happens on the road and you dont go through so many tires as practicing it on the road http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif .

Only one of my mates has ever been mountain driving with me and he absolutely whooped me (Nissan Silvia vs Pug 206 gti). It's awesome fun but people, please pick a sensible time/place for that sort of thing. When we do it we go the roads along the coast near Newcastle and Warners Bay at 2 a.m. The roads are deserted bar the odd car or two and they're usually there for the same reason! So yeah, stay safe

Dont know if I should be promoting this, but yes I do battle, me and John (ie TWINCAMCARBI) hit alot of Touge's around the Blue Mountains, and race Initial D style.
We've both had our share of outside compeditors (John travelled to Wollongong to battle an R32... and won) and at home compeditors (2 X AE86 + R32 / Cliff Wall = VICTORY!!!)
I am proud of what I do, but certainly dont condone it.
Is it right?
No! Its bloody dangerous!

Depends what you mean by "sensible" I guess. If you mean staying within your skill/vehicular limitsthen I'm with you. However I doubt many people in the general public would find what we do particularly "sensible". But that's half the fun, isn't it?

i once raced this r32 gtr on a downhill run. the gtr was pulling away on the straights and i was catching up in the corners while drifting. he ended up understeering at a corner exit while i passed him and he crashed. it was a really tough race........no wait.......hang on, that was initial d http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

yeah, i agree with you on that. i was mainly joking in my post before that. i was sorta saying that, Seeing as this is a public forum you dont really wanna say out load that your speeding on mountains...

But, yeah, i find that if you drive well within your limits you should be relitively ok

i do alot of mountain driving... and have never called it a "battle"
i just do quick runs regularly on a few different mountains, and pride myself in keeping up with/sometimes beating much quicker cars like big turbo 180s and S15s...

Hey v-tec wasn't meaning to rip on you or anything.

The best thing about most of the hills driving I do is that while the speed limit is 80 there is no way u can even get out of second gear for most of it, with only one straight on my local touge (sorry, I've always wanted to call it that) that you could realistically crack 80 on.

And i agree with v-tec, it probably isn't the best idea to advertise where we do our runs - but it looks like most of you kiddies are smart enough not to mention exact locations and such.

I think if you say the area you drive ie. sunshine coast but not the name of the road ie. road street, then its cool. It lets anyone thats driven that area know what youre talking about.
And on the safety the road I drive the speed limits 80 and theres only a coupe of places you could get over that but I pretty much stick to 80.

There's 2 guys that head up the blue mountain every now and then. Same two guys. This might sound corny but I've actually sat at the top of the mountain and listened to them hammer it down. I'm hoping to be driving down there one night just to see what I'm up against in the local area.

One thing I've found most interesting

Cheers

Its nice to hear about people enjoying there cars and giving them shit. Its even better when you here them talkin about it in a sensible manner and making sure to considering others on the road.

I'm glad to be associated with a responible driving club.

The only problem with mentioning a place but no roads or street is these bloody helicopters and there god damn search lights there a pain in the ass.

Keep it driving hard and fast sideways http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

I havent met any other cars on the roads http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif . But I was wondering how often other people "meet" other drivers on the road cause the only "fast" person ive driven in front of or behind is a hilux and a new XR6 (the hilux was pretty quick for a hilux, the XR6 was slow as bejesus). And theres never anyone around at night http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif .
