If you dont, you'll end up like me, with the lymph gland in your neck as big as a golf ball because the top hat of the spring flew into your head and now your body thinks theres an infection somewhere there.

thus, I cant move my neck, and there is no comfortable position. Paracetomol and asprin and all that shit does basically nothing.
I wouldn't wish the pain on my worst enemies - I'll tell you that.

as a sidenote - anyone know any type of painkiller I can get without presciption? appartently I have another 2 weeks of this. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/blink.gif

kill me now.

Damn, thats bad - get well soon eh?

Personally I would go for Panadiene (now available over the counter) or something like "Codis". Codis tablets are pretty much the only painkiller I have ever found that can kill my migraines.

Hope ur feeling better soon

*nods* Anything with codiene is going to offer a bit more relief.

Any stomach problems? And do you have asthma at all? If NO to both then read on.

Reason I ask is your probably best to get some NSADs to help with the inflammation. Aspirin is an OK NSAD (non-steroidal Anti inflammatory drug), though I would be tring some type of ibuprofen.

I'd suggest trying Neurofen Plus, so your getting both codiene and an NSAD... just make sure you have something to eat with it, even a bicky if its late at night cause NSADs are well known to burn a hole through your stomach with extended use (ulcers).

Let us know how you go!

Damn I'm sorry to hear that you are in so much pain!

Not having a go or anything but you are lucky that you didn't come out with much worse! There is a hell of a lot of energy stored in a compressed car spring.
People who dont know what they are doing should really do a bit of research before embarking on anything to do with pulling apart a car. One of the first things you will read in any published guide to pulling apart struts is to use spring compressors.

But anyway I hope you get better soon mate,

Rob

ps if you can get hold of some panedine forte that stuff is good but you do need a prescription, or know someone who has one http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif

nope no coilovers yet, this was on a friends car.

I knew about the risk of not using the compressors but chose not to use them as i have never used them in the past. ah well lesson learnt and im gonna go lie down.

I'll see if I can get my hands on something ibuprofen.

thanks fellas

I hope you get better soon, you are a very lucky boy. I know people who have lost eyes and one guy who copped it big time in the jaw, shattered it. No good mate!

That's cause of 30mg of codiene in each Panadiene Forte tab.... http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Don't go taking 4 x Panadol to make up for a panadiene forte....it doesn't work that way.

Any more than 1g of paracetamol within 4-6 hour period will just lead to hepatic problems.

You mean how you crack the nut on the top to get the hats off?

Airtools are such a wonderful thing! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif Your only other option I think without having the quick snapping effect an air ratchet has will be to somehow lock the hat with some screwdrivers through the little holes on them and get a mate with a socket and breaker bar to losen the nut while you prevent the top spinning.

I've done this a few time effectively.... real ghetto I know! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/laugh.gif
