I was wondering why did the sprinter in this country get discontinued in the 80s?

we got sprinters upto 2000 in Australia, just as they always were, a spec of corolla. They're just not the type of car Takumi would be seen in as they were mostly 4 and 5 door sedans http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

We got sprinters up to 1996 but they were FWD (AE101R i think they were)
