I don't know which one to choose, has im always driving long hours (sometimes days) Im looking for a car that is fast and comfortable and at the same time, to be able to take it down the track.

I have test driven all of them, the MPS felt like the fastest of them all, even in corners and it doesn't look like a sports car.
STI had a nice sporty interior, 2.5ltr was not promising while it at was the least fastest suspension was bit too stiff while the evo felt like a fast rwd that liked to get the rear end out.

I don't think that (without mods) the MPS will last taking around the track. The brakes will fade earlier, it's heavier and has the least track setup suspension of the three. Sounds like the Evo is your pick if the Subie is too stiff for you.

Thats my opinion anyway http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif

You dont need to go through ralli art anymore, these are mass production cars, note the cheaper prices.

haven't driven the mazda, but I've taken the Evo and the STi for a fang around a track... I'd go with the Evo, its so much nicer to drive, the Evo I drove tended to oversteer in corners when pushed, wheras the subie seemed like it understeered.

I personally don't like the look of the new Rex, haven't seen the mazda one but Mazda parts are pretty hard to get a hold of. Got the Evo! There is a black one in town, hot as and now they come with MIVEC

Cheers

Alan: thats right, mivec works like an extra cam that spools the turbo faster and increases torque so it felt faster than the sti(they also have variavel valve timing but nothing major).
I dont mind the new look sti, but you call tell subaru is in a partnership with saab. But im still amazed at the MPS performance http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/ph34r.gif

You can import an Evo 6 these days for around 30k including compliance and rego. I'd hit it http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Not really, its company car and it has to be new, if I modified it I will loss the warranty. If that was not the case it would be a two door sti http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/sad.gif

The MPS some how reminds me of the S3, when cornering hard the torque distributes itself to the rear wheels (50/50max) and with the rear lsd it likes boogie, also I never liked attention (people don't look twice at the MPS). The sti has a similar torque thing, its fast but boring, the evo is a bit in between (great performance for a 2.0 http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/ph34r.gif )

im with ian...

the MPS suks the big 1...

evo and sti at least were designed for thrashing

MPS looks like a mazda 6 (which to its credit isnt too bad to look at)

the subaru is straight foul..every, poser/ mid life crisis/ ricer/ cruiser has one - they had to go to 2.5 so they could match the low end response of the evo, and had to go to semi slicks to match the handling...and they failed...

when ever i see an evo 8/9 they still make me look on with lust.. hahahaha

i am a car dealer but seeing as this is a toyota forum it does not matter
personally i hate the red colour and silver and black and yellow
blue and white look the best and the wheels are terrible and the 6 speed box is a pile of crap other than that they are a top package all round
the evo 10 looks terrible in my opinion but is esposed to weigh a lot less than the 7/8/9/
if i where to buy another evo it would be a 6/6.5 tommy car as they look the best by far and to this day is still the best rally car of them all

That's looks ugly. Do you want brand new? Just go 2nd hand and spend the rest on what a new car would of cost onto modifications.

Almost all japanese cars are pretty much plug and play if you know what you're doing.

You can import an Evo 7 real cheap these days. Although the Evo8/9 isn't too shabby either.

Wrong, the 2.5 was passed to fix an emissions problem the old model had.
The evo was faster (am I repeating myself? http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/blink.gif ). The MPS was the fastest.

Anyway I should be receiving the MPS at the front door soon http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif
