I have a few chrome bits and pieces that I want to paint black... dont like the look of chrome in this application.. so yeh..
what is the best way to paint something with a chrome finish.. without it scratching off ect......?

hit it up with a scourour pad, or some 1600 grit sandpaper..it's pretty fine, and if it looks poo you haven't scratched the shit out of the chrome paint underneath http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif make sure you use a bit of an etch primer also..or the paint might get fish eyes..

cheers man......... I was hoping I wouldnt have to rub it back... but kinda knew I would more than likely have to... meh its not very big anyway..

how about some heavy duty black spray paint? usualy sticks to shinny surfaces like chrome finish i believe

you don't need to sand the whole thing..just scuff it up a bit..take the shine off..that sorta thing..something for the paint to stick to! you'll be fine if you give it a quick rub

sand with 200 grit then 400 clean it rub prep sole over it with a cloth (find it at any general paint store, eg dulux) wait 1 hour spray

think I got it under control............. just wanted to see what method would be sugested on here..... sweet as now.......
