I fixed mine by raising the 2 rubber threaded stoppers up a couple of mm

same here adjust the rubber bonnet stoppers up b4 you start mucking around with the cable 9 times out of 10 thats what it is. the rubber stopper bushes squash down due to years of having bonnets slammed and closed and shit

Good luck http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/wink.gif

don't screw with the cable unless you know waht you're doin and adjust the soppers up half turn at a time, adjust wrong and you'll struggle to get the bonnet open again!!! http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

Get the bonnet open, and have a look at the latch. Give everything that moves a squirt with your aerosol lube of choice(i like chain lube cos it doesn't dry out quickly) Give your bonnet hinges a squirt while you are in there.

This fixed my bonnet, and now it 'pops' properly when i pull the release lever.

My bonnet cable was way too loose.

so i pulled it out at the engine bay.
now im unsure how to tighten it?
