Hey Folks...

Wanting a lightweight flywheel but am too much of a tight arse to shell out the big bucks for a Toda etc at this point.....what's the consensus on lightening a stock flywheel?

Anyone had it done? Is it safe?

it's safe if it's done right. it has to be dynamically balanced.

Thanks for the info Xolent...where do you get something like that done? Is it a specialist engineering job?

Have to make some inquiries...

u dont want a dodgy place to lighten your fly wheel
if your flywheel let go at 7k rpm say good bye to your legs

I bought my extreme lightend flywheel for $512 and its 3.9kg well worth the extra $$$ as my legs would be worth more than that.

Bite the bullet and by a good quality aftermarket one
