Hi guys,

Anyone here rebuilt a TRD LSD before? you know where I can get a rebuit kit or it any idea how much they cost?

I think my is worn as it only spin one wheel when I put my 15s on http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/angry.gif . It works fine when I use the 13s with crappy tyres. I think the 15s might have too much grip for it.

I'm using redline at the moment i don't think its the oil cos its only about 1 month old. I think its the secondhand LSD.

Regardless of what tyres and how grippy they are, the lsd should not open wheel.

Sounds like you need a rebuild.

I know that T3 sell a rebuild kit?

does LSD wears out alot from normal driving? i had it on the car for about 1500 kms now the first few hundreds it seem to be pretty tight you can feel it when turning etc.

I wonder how long it would last if I rebuit mine, cos I spend about 90% of the time driving normally and only about 10% doing stuff like trying to drift or donuts etc.

i have a trd lsd
has been rebuilt a few yrs ago
since rebuild prolly has done bout 30000 kms
still tighter than a nuns proverbial skips all the time
i pretend to drive normally for 90% of the time and hard for 10% but i am mad and the numbers are reversed ps i think my neighbours hate me ...damn hoon......

it does depend on the oil.. different oil will make the TRD unit behave differently.. i used to run some lim slip penrite stuff in there.. (recomended by a mate who has a falcoon with an LSD) and it was an LSD, but i just had it rebuilt (had a few axles and crownwheels let go on me with a GZE in there http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif ) and didn't feel as tight as it used to.. so i changed oil.. to this penrite 10ths competition oil.. and now it cherps and chatters in slick concrete carparks (only under a tiny bit of load) so it's not like a locker, but you notice the difference. feels like it snaps harder to oversteer, and carries it longer.. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/smile.gif
