hahahahahaha, love that line.

hmm, is it just me or are the disc handbrake cables hugely different to drum ones?

in the way they engage....

so u probably cannot use the original ones.

Hey " Road Sailing" if your not going to help then get the f*** of this forum.

My mate is trying to ask whether it can be done in very gangsta version of english.
What he is trying to say is whether the stock aus spec handbrake cable can be used by modifying it or does he have to buy a new one from Toyota. Someone around here must use japspec rearends and have had the same problem.

cheers

I just used some marine grade steel wire clamps from bunnings to shorten mine, just looped it in a S shape and clamped it together and its held up for 6 months so far

You either need new cables (all 3 of them) or you do what Scott suggests.

Do people talk like that in real life or just on forums? The centre cable down the transmission tunnel is common to both. The cable that branch off from here to the calipers are different but available. The mounting points to the body which are in a different place are there though.

Theres a clip on either side of the underbody on the hachi where the handbrake cable connects. Speak to sprinkler86 as he has already put his jap spec in and I havent yet still got it laying around. The cables run down the side not inside the tunnel. Hope that helps

This is only what i have heard and have read.

If using t18 drum rear end, s series handbrake cable work, but if Disk brake rear end is being use then disk brake diff cables need to be brought, can get em new.

Or just modify to suit.

FWIW i read the first post and fully understood the question, why other's wouldnt understand is beyond me.

Cheers

Steve
