Im just wondering if the brake boosters of ae71' and ae86 are the same? imp about to go get a Mitsubishi Starion master cylinder, and there supposed to bolt into the brake booster of 86's but I assume there the same as the ae71's?

Also when running boost, how dose the brake booster work??? Aren't they vacuum operated so how dose it get its vacuum if its still connect to the manifold. I can't find any answers http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/7/5/4/536981.jpg

i don't know if ae71 boosters are the same as adm sprinter ones i 'd assume that they are, i know ke70 ones are different dimension wise but work the same and ae86 master bolts up fine, we found in my mates ke70 he used the standard booster and master but with a t18 diff and it locks rears under heavy braking, whereas i used all the booster and master out of my sprinter in my ke70 and i have no such drama. the ke, ae71 rear drums are significantly smaller than the AE86 and T18 ones.

with the booster you use a one way valve which yours should have in line with the vacuum hose from the vacuum source on your inlet manifold to the booster. when engine is at closed throttle and idle, vacuum is generated and stored i the booster, which then assists the braking. the idea of the oone way valve in your boosted application is to stop pressurising the brake booster when your turbo/supercharger is generating boost.

might get a replace cuze I mean it is like 30yr's old and I guess brakes are kind of important http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/emoticons/tongue.gif

So it just builds its vacuum up every time there 0 throttle and the butterfly closed? I assume the boost leak through the ideal when the S/C is engaged when the throttle is closed after high rpm is negotiable?
