On a carby, the thottle never closes completely. It is help open slightly at idle, and you adjust this for idle speed.

On EFI the throttle closes completely.

does it idle any higher?

the throttle will be open a little bit...to allow air to get in so that it can idle.

all that the idle screw on your carby does is open up the throttle a little bit to allow Some air in, jsut enough to make it sit at 1000rpm or so.

so in short...no it wont make any difference to your engine assuming its not idling to high. if the throttle gets stuck open then it will just idle high when you dont have your foot on the accel at all. which would be a problem.

you can make the throttle close all the way if you want, but it wont idle at all!:D
