hey guys, as the title says my main fusible link thats on my positive battery terminal keeps blowing. it doesnt do it when the ignition is turned to on but only when i actually start the car. i had actually stopped it from doing it by cable tieing the fuse box tight on the terminal as it was loose and its only started doing it again after having battery disconected for a few days last week. the car runs an ems computer and the fuse only used to blow when itd come on boost but now it does it as soon as it starts. the car also keeps running when it blows but none of the electrical systems work.

if anyone has any ideas or if its happened to anyone else let me know

cheers

Firstly if your main fusible link is blowing you have a major short. Check out what is causing it.

I had a similar problem when the +12V feed off the side of the alternator was bent down and occasionally shorting on the alternator housing.

Just poke around with a multimeter and wobble parts until you find something.

does it only do it when you crank the motor over?

if it does something you could try to isolate would be to push or tow start it

cos if it blows only when you crank the motor over not when the ignition is on or engine is running, then the short will be related to the starter motor wiring
you need to start eliminating possiblitites.
