sorry guys to ask more questions but i have decided on keeping my 16v as it is a good engine as it stands and seems quicker than your average 16v so my questions is whats involved in putting quad throttles in??

i know i'll need a new ECU or piggy back and of course the quads but what else is needed? and what exactly is TPS???

any help would be great guys and girls..

1st you will require an adaptor plate, available from T3 and Visionr I believe..... other places also no doubt....

other than that Im not certain.....

TPS ----- Throttle Position Sensor ----- someone correct me if Im wrong though.....

throttle position sensor is right. it sits on/in your plenum. so youll need a different one to sit on your new quad throttles.

if your smart buy a set of quads with the tps sensor left on...and hope no one has had a fiddle with it...as they are never supposed to be moved.

what is required re fuel rail?

fuel rail bolts to the head.. has nothing to do with the actual inlet system at all.. injectors sit in the head also..

my setup
T3 smallport 20v quad adaptor plate - $249 USD
20V quads using 20V TPS - $200 (used ofcourse, can be cheaper or more etc)
bolt it all together.. you CAN use the factory ecu providing you give the map sensor a good vaccume.. but it will run on the rich side.. aftermarket is much prefferred if you can afford it straight away, but the car will run and drive with factory..

if you like your engine you will run filters.. even if it is just those unifilter socks zip tied over the trumpets.. there not the greatest filter but will do something at least.. i'm not running anything on mine at the moment.. just exposed trumpets.. birds and low flying planes get sucked into it... i've seen parants pulling thier kids off the foot path in fear beacuse they saw an elderly person dissapear under my hood!

matty, you got tricky tig skills do you not? ever thought of making plate that bolt on to the quads instead of trumpets in with you could hose clamp those small diametre k&n filters on, like they use on bikes with individual throttles?

ever seen what a piston and bore looks like after being in an engine with no air filter?

the engine is rooted and pistons are not re-useable. just use filters. may not have the same bling bling wank factor, but it will save your engine

if you want it to run properly, yes.
