Hi all, I recently got my alternator fixed for my 4AGZE map AE101 , you might have seen my SCREAMS for help LOL.

I spoke to a friend and he said that the regulators in the 4AGE alternators and in the 4AGZE alternators across the board are all the same.

Is there a truth to this?????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????

Cause my electrician that fixed it found it very difficult to locate a genuine "ZE" regulator ,which ended up costing me more than i expected. So when he found one, it was worth more than its weight in gold.

So what im saying is if i could have put a 4age one in it ,would have cost me a lot less. ALL your feed back would be much appreciated and could hopefully help other "Ze" owners down the track. Cheers Peter Pacific Pines Queensland.

Unsure on the main question, though I assume any reg would work.

However I have also heard from a reasonably reliable source that some model Prelude alternator is an exact fit for a ZE alternator, even down to the correct plugs.

The only diff may be the connector, the old style has a big round connector but the new alternators have long style connector
