I think the best for performance is 4-2-1 extractor like the one in the toda website, good for low end torque, 2.25 inch and under the diff which makes the flow better. But I use 2.25 inch over the diff coz I didn't want to remove the rear pipe every time I jack my car up.. Also I use 4-1 extractor mainly becoz they were so cheap to buy and I was tight in money when I did my conversion.

As usual, with questions like this, it just all depends what you want.

My opinion is:
4-1 gives slightly better high end
4-2-1 gives slightly better midrange.
However just get what you can second hand that look to be equal length.

Size: 2.25 or 2.5 will make approx 0 noticeable difference. Just run whatever size the pipe at the end of your extractors is. And ensure you get decent quality mufflers in it.

Under diff will be more pain than its worth on a road driven car, and again the gains will be minimal. However if you want the sik boy racer look then go for it.

use a decent metal cat, 10-12inch resonator, and an offset center straight through type muffler, round or oval.. very nice sound.. loudish.. not barkey, not honda civic raspyness.. and not overpowering.. either 2.25 or 2.5... i run 4-1's with 2.25 mandril bent under diff with the above mufflers/cat..

my exhaust isn't reduclously low uner the car, and my diff just touches the exhaust on full extension.. never whislt driving though.. just get your hands on a lathe and shorten your shocks so they arn't as tall on full ext..
