Hey guys,

Ever since I put my 4age into the KE70, the wipers haven't worked. I initially worked out it was popping the 20A fuse. When I need the wipers, I have used a 35A fuse in its place but now that the fuse isn't popping, the lights on the dash (HandBrake/Oil Pressure/etc but not charge) have gone dim. It looks like power is being sucked out of the system.

I replaced the wiper switch/stalk and the wiper motor to find it makes no difference. I found the wiper control unit the other day and replaced that with the wiper unit from the AE71(spare parts car) only to have the same problem. The wipers in the AE71 didn't work at all for some reason.

I'm pretty sure it's not the wiring grounding at some point since the problem goes away if I unplug the wiper motor.

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix the prob?

Follow wires with a multimeter. If things run ok after you blow a fuse, you know the problem is part of the circuit beyond the fuse.

Trace wires and look for damage.
Unplug everything and see if the fuse blows, then plugs things back in one by one, see which causes it to go.

Process of elimination.

Yeah, the other items on the same fuse are fan and washer bottle motor that I know of. I can have them plugged in with the fuse in it and it's fine but if I plug in the wipers, it screws things up.

Also the wipers don't work on Int or Low position.
