hey guys
i'm pretty sure everyone is getting sick of these know questions but my car 4agze ae86 obviously anyway i'm replacing the clutch and want it all to be a straight in out affair and i was wondering what sort of clutch do i need do most people just ask for a standard t50 gearbox clutch??? obviously heavy duty or something else also supposedly it has a 6kg flywheel too so does anyone have any ideas??? any hepl would be great plus part numbers too

you cant use a factory 4agze flywheel in a rwd set up. the clutch cover will foul the bellhousing because the flywheel is too thick.
you have 2 choices. early 200mm (from big port) later 212 mm from ae92(smallport)ae101(silvertop)or if you can get one ae111 (blacktop)
for a gze you would try to go for 212mm. then i would say a heavy duty clutch cover and a if you can afford it some type of sprung puck clutch.

No, it is not the flywheel that has this problem. It is the standard GZE clutch friction plate which has a spline too big to suit a T50 input shaft.
Slydar's point is also correct.
To answer your orig question, there's no way of telling whether you currently have a 200mm or 212mm flywheel. And you need to know this before you can buy the right clutch. So you should drop the box and old clutch, measure the diameter of the old friction plate, and get a replacement to match that size (200mm = AE86/AE82 clutch, 212mm = AE92 clutch)
For normal street/occasional fun I'd recommend a heavy duty organic (like Exedy). For serious drift/track get a puck. However have a read around, there's already plenty of opinions expressed about clutches.

you will be going through clutches.. end of story.. i'm sorry to be negative, but there isn't really a middle ground.. was 4 puck carbide sprung center, with 2100lbs pressure plate.. 200mm version.. (approx $360, all i supplied was the flywheel) it lasted.. but you will kill it if you ride the clutch.. i have only had it slip once..but each time i removed the gear box.. i had the pplate and flywheel machined, and new pads (bout $180).. even dougie told me, the clutch will last just fine.. but the more you ride it, the shittier it will feel.. so clutch goes all the way in, then all the way out.. unfortunatly this caused issued with certain T-50's and numerous pairs of axles..
i am still using this clutch (freshened up ofcourse) in my current setup with the NA motor.. it's awsome!
due to the small size of the clutch disc.. even the 212.. there just isn't enough friction material there to provide a good contact.. alot of turbo 86's (i know of) have clutch dramas.. as they try an 'off the shelf' clutch in a not so off the shelf motor..
