can the intake manifold be removed while in the engine bay? im just fed up of removing it the whole engine to get to the remote thermo housing http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/dcimages/7/5/4/536981.jpg

Yes, very easy, dont even need to take off the TVIS. 4 bolts underneath and 5 I think on top (2 of which are nuts) A couple of the bolts on top are a bit hard to see at first.

yeh for sure..
remote thermostate housing? where did you put yours if you need take off your inlet manifold off!?

Yes as I said above. i took mine off on Saturday night.
