speed meter doesnt work?? any ideas

hi guys jsut wondering if anyone has had the same problem and fixed it.
basicly the speed meter is not working and i have no idea where to look or start.
help would be great. cheers guys

Check the sender on the side of the gearbox, mine unscresw every now an then
