So there was spark at the end of the leads and the leads had a good connection to the plugs?
I think the best thing to do would be work backwards: do the plugs have spark, the leads, distribtor etc. then you'll find where the spark stops and be able to find it.
Trying arcing the leads and plugs to the body to be sure they have a strong spark. Otherwise maybe the leads are faulty and they get spark but dont give it, or could the spacing gap on the plugs be too wide or there isn't enough spark?
I had this problem once and there was water in the distributor cap and another time the plugs were dirty.

Cas suffer from bad earths as well, check the engine has a good earth. If your using a microtech with it, they require 12v to start, otherwise wont even come close. Check the Crank Angle Sensor as well (CAS), the one on the missus's car shit itself and would crank over but not fire at all. Shaft was cracked, couldnt notice it at all.

change ur coil packs very common problem for the ca18s and make shore ur loom has been all connected properly to all the right location there is a few diffrent plugs very easy to get the wrong one on the wrong place but really look into changing coil packs even tho you have checked em get second hand ones from some one. EKW have tonnes of them. or try get ur hands on a stock computer of someone borrow a mates or something try that see what happens if none of that works got me stuffed.
p.s good luck mate
