I have just recieved my JDM disc brake rear end that I recently purchased. I did search and only came up with references to T18 T series requiring the rear of the T18 shaft to work but what do I do/need to make the JDM diff flange mate up with the ADM shaft. Will it bolt up or do I need to look for a T18 rear shaft or JDM tailshaft shaft.

Cheers

Todd

Use the front section of your AE86 tailshaft with the rear section from a T-18 tailshaft.

the t18 tailshaft is shorter (1-3cm), iv been told that you should be able to use the adm tailshaft if the car isnt lowered.

Are the flange mating faces on the yoke and tailshaft the same dimentions? I am not to worried about the lengths as I can cut and shut if required.

u need either the rear half of a t-18 tails shaft or a JDM one pieace shaft or make a custom one out of ur ADM shaft

Yep. Got that now. Thanks for the replies. I just pulled my rear half of the ADM shaft out ant it mated to the JDM T series flange. I will get a custom job done.

Are the JDM shafts one piece?

I don't think thats quite right about JDM one being one piece. There seem to be two version of the bias valves fitted to ae86 the early one is one piece up to ~1984 where as the newer one is two piece.

Here is the part numbers for rear bias valve of the newer two piece type 47150 22050 about $160 from toyota.

why would you need a new brake booster? or do you mean the brake master cylinder?? I'm still trying to find out if the JDM one and the Aus one is the same?? anyone know?

Where is the rear bias valve located? As for the M/C everyting I have researched says that they are the same - bore size ect.

Instead of just swapping half of the t-18 tailshaft, can't you just bolt the whole thing in, or is the front section a different length as well?

can say yes.. JDM ones are still 2 peice.. hence toyota listing a center bearing in parts for AE86's..
