well i put this 4age in my car hooked everything up had a few probs but solved them. had the engine running with no coolant and no gearbox oil filled those up and then fixed all the wiring just solder what wasnt.
after i did this i havnt been able to start the engine.
well it starts for like 3 secs then dies. i have serched for this and tried to fix the prob but no luck.
when i runn it using cold start it goes for 3 sec but if i disconect it just fires and crank only.
everything seems to be wired up right.
to me it seems like the injectors arnt freing.
also the gauges in the dash just the oil and temp oines donot work. i know i havnt got them pluged in but i dont know where they go.

If it starts it has fuel pressure, but may only be starting on your cold start injector. Have you checked for voltage at the injectors? I can't understand from your various threads what you have done loom wise, but essentially your injectors should have power from the ignition via a relay and then the ECU tells them when to fire (very simply)

check your crank angle sensor dude u might have knocked it or sumfen because that sends the signal to your computer to fire the injectors give it shot check all wires down at the sensore if you can get a new one or borro your mates one put it on c how you go

i had the same problem when i did my conversion. your injectors are not getting any power after the startup sequence. its a wiring problem.
Matt-AE86 was the guy that fixed mine as im not a electrics person.
PM him and ask him how to fix it.

thanx for the help i am getting power to the injectors and have come to the conclusion it either a sensor, vacume, wiring problem.
i did have the engine running and i was stoked. no i just want to destroy it.
what wires conect to these i know there the oil and temp gauges for the cabin but dont know what wires connect to them.
twhat is the wire that connects to the dizzy is it just a ground?
and the hose that connects under the throttle sensor the very bottom one where does this connect to and what is it.
sorry for all thw questions as i dont have any one i really know with a sprinter.

but what do i connect to them cause every time i conect some thing the gauges go through the roof. im prob connecting the wrong thing.

Having those not connected isnt going to make any difference. What engine is it, what ecu and what loom are you running. It sounds like injector power cause they fire for the first bit of cranking at start up then the main injector relay give sthem power.

if you are connecting aftermarket gauges to those senders then they will read wrong.
are you using aftermarket gauges or the stock ones on the dash?

OK, again I am thinking Fail Safe Relay, or in your case, lack of one.
With ign on, you should have 12v at both injector pins, one pin gets it from BATT, one from BF. Check those are still on.
If you are bypassing using a Fail Safe Relay, you have to have 12v to ecu pin FS, or the ecu will cut power to the injectors on startup.
So, even if you have power to the injectors, it wont matter if you don't have FS wired up. So, turn ignition on and check all this stuff with your multimeter.

i think my prob is grounding i will have a look tomorrow and update.
if it helps the tacho moves when i try and star the car
the hose on top foto (what is this) what is this? is it a coolant hose or something and if so or not whare does it go.
i am using stock gauges in my car. my engine is a blue black top using what i assume is the ecu for it and loom i got from somewhere else.
and in the bottom pic is that just a ground for the dizzy?

well had a look and all the wiring is fine not the best but it will do. going to rewire the loom and tidy it up. im getting power to everything that needs power but it still wont start. i think the injectors could be blocked. i had them cleaned but filter might not be working or is stuffed. is there a way to test the injectors off the car as i pulled them out and some shit came out of the rail.

ok havnt been able to start this engine agian like i said i had it started. went to start it the nextday and didnt want to work.
it sounds like it runns off the cold start injecter and then it stops.
im getting 12v to my injectors i conected the fs on the ecu to have 12v but still nothing.
took out the injectors and started them in to cups i got nothin so im sure im not getting any pulse. the ground on the intake has one from the igniter and then one from ecu which is e 01 e02 and e1
i am definately getting spark too
timming is good too

sounds like from this thread that you are having a very similar or the same problem as me. wasnt too sure from the pm that u gave me.
lol... i recently a coil problem in which i assumed was the reason for my car not starting. That got fixed. YaY!
but then still did not start. I have fuel being pumped and coming back thru the return and my plugs do spark, which leads straght the the injection... probly the rail not loading up or somthing...

Sounds like your'e having similar probs as me....
You can check if your injectors are working by pulling out the distributor and while the ignition is on, turn the dist. the injectors are working if you hear them clicking...mine wern't!!!

ok i fixed it it starts i knew there was nothing wrong with my wiring.
when i connected the cold start and turn the key to on it starts the fuel pump and only cause i wired it to the on part. when i turned the key off i could hear a sucking sound i did it twice then it stopped i dont know what it was but i had this crazy idea to unplug the map sensor and when i did it started. i unpugged it from my loom not the hose. well it started straight away and im happy. now the question is why.
im thinking its broken if not then im stumped.
what happens if i run the car with this off.
